A collaboration deeply rooted in the clients' own heritage, this San Mateo home weaves together sacred Hindu narratives with a refined, modern sensibility. Each space becomes a canvas for meaning, shaped in close partnership with the family it was created for.

The Dining Room evokes a lush paddy field, a tribute to Annapurna Devi, the Hindu goddess of nourishment and abundance who embodies the sacred relationship between food and life. A marble dining table and sheer, monotone drapery keep the space serene, letting the imagery of abundance take center stage.

The Living Room centers on a modern checkered zigzag bookcase, punctuated with painting frames that hold one of the project's most meaningful details. Learned directly from the clients, the artwork honors the Arupadai Veedu, the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan: Thirupparamkundram (marriage), Thiruchendur (battle camp), Palani (ascetic form), Swamimalai (teacher), Thiruthani (peace), and Pazhamudircholai (divine grace). Each shrine finds its place within the room, turning the bookcase into a personal, one-of-a-kind narrative.

The Family Room offers a quieter register, with a custom niche and a bay window creating a reading nook suited to morning coffee and quiet moments.
